As a father of two children and aware that self-confidence and self-esteem begin to develop from the earliest years of life, LeVar Pompey decided to create a children’s book that not only entertains but also strengthens kids’ self-esteem and acceptance of themselves just as they are.
Thus, Be All of You! was born, a book that is not just another story but rather an invitation for children to learn to value their individuality and cultivate confidence in themselves.
LeVar Pompey’s inspiration came from reading to his children and noticing the lack of books that reinforced their confidence and self-esteem. For this reason, he wanted to create a story that would never go out of style or be forgotten over time, a book that reminds children they are created in God’s image and that their worth does not depend on external circumstances.
For LeVar, today’s society focuses excessively on uniformity and relegates to the background the crucial value of differences. According to him, this limits critical thinking and fosters division. Be All of You! seeks to make room for that difference by teaching children to appreciate diverse opinions and different ways of believing and being, thus promoting inclusion and creativity.
In this way, children will learn to be comfortable with their facets, whether similar or different from others. The idea is that they believe they are in the world with a unique purpose and that they have the inner strength to fulfill it.
In addition to Be All of You!, Pompey is working on an independent film called “The Priest,” which has gained success on social media, and he hopes to release it this year. You can follow him on Instagram @levar_pompey to stay updated on his projects and inspiring messages.
